DESIGNING WITH LIGHT + SHADOW
Objective
The objective of this project is to investigate light and shadow. Light can evoke different emotions and activate the senses. It can affect our mood and alter our perception of space. I am interested in conducting a series of experiments that utilize light as a design tool.
Relevance of the Topic
I realized that we rarely engage in analog processes of production at the design department in CAAD. Students are fixated on utilizing digital means only. Hopefully, my light explorations could highlight the value of investigating analog processes.
Motivation
While I was walking around the campus through different timings of the day, I saw different readings of the same structure, the structure didn’t change/move, yet the shadow casted is different each time.
