Emirates Literature Festival is a gathering of writers and readers, typically on an annual basis in Dubai. This festival features a variety of presentations and readings by different authors, as well as other events, delivered over a period of 10 days. The meaning that I am trying to convey in my logo is a series of lines that form a pattern resembling the structure of a book. They are reduced and translated to lines to suggest the edginess of a book on a shelf. Playing around with the positive and negative spaces to translate the perspective of a book.
The usage of repeated lines creates a rhythm that mimics multiple books on the same shelf. In addition, I used different line weights to portray a message of depth. Lastly, in my type identity, I portrayed parallel lines to create a dynamic effect.
